Handmade Storage Box with Hinged Lid

Storage doesn't have to look like storage.

This chest is built from vertical wooden planks in a warm honey tone, framed by paler corner posts, with a lid that lifts on hinges and stays open on a chain. The antique-style latch and the decorative corner brackets give it a traditional trunk look, and the carved wooden handles on each side make it easy to move. Open it up and there's plenty of room for cushions, throws, toys, books or bedding.

It sits happily at the end of a bed, beside a sofa or in a hallway, and the flat lid doubles as a handy surface for a lamp or a mug.
